USA Hockey LTAD & HPC

Utah’s Only 2009-10

Competition Hockey Program

LONG-TERM ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT (LTAD)
&
HIGH PERFORMANCE CLUB MODEL (HPC)

Regulators Hockey, Inc., (RHI), (Chadder’s and the Rocky Mountain Renegades), is embracing the USA Hockey Long-Term Athlete Development Model.  RHI is partnering with the Utah Olympic Oval (Oval) in an effort to facilitate all aspects of this important initiative.  Regulators Hockey is the only Utah Association positioned to become a member of the USA Hockey American Development Model in 2010-11

The Olympic Oval/USA Hockey – Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD)

The Olympic Oval will provide Learn-to-Skate, Mite, Peewee, Bantam and Adult Recreational Hockey opportunities with three basic goals:

To provide an enjoyable athletic experience for its patrons and

To provide the beginning path to further hockey opportunities for those who show the skill and desire to participate at higher competitive levels

To increase the awareness of the sport as a spectator environment

Regulators Hockey, Inc./ USA Hockey  – Long Term Athlete Development Model – High Performance Club Program (HPC)

RHI will provide teams at the U10 (Squirt), U11 (Peewee Minor), U12 (Peewee Major), U13 (Bantam Minor), U14 (Bantam Major), U15 (Midget Minor), U16 (Midget Minor AAA), U18 (Midget Major AA) and U18 (Midget Major AAA) levels.  All teams will follow closely the USA Hockey LTAD-High Performance Club Model that will be instituted officially in 2010-11.

With the exception of the RHI Midget programs, emphasis will generally be on the training aspects of the sport and less on the game aspects.  The 10-14 year old age groups are critical to our long-term success and as a result, training is essential to prepare these players for the higher level competition that will eventually lead to increased opportunities for individual players at Junior and College levels.  The HPC portion of the Long Term Athlete Development model provides the path to achieve this goal.
